Northwestern basketball returns to the court tonight at 5:30 PM central, hosting the Liberty Flames of the Big South conference. Liberty comes into this game at 1-4, with their only win over NAIA school Southern Virginia. This should be an easy win on paper, but after the 'Cats narrow escape against Tennessee State I'm going to be nervous for every game no matter how weak the opponent. As for the line, I've scoured the internet and I can't find a point spread for this game. This doesn't really make sense because lines for matchups like Central Michigan vs. Wright State (Wright State -15), Florida A&M vs Rider (Rider -14.5), and Elon vs Yale (Yale -2.5) are all readily available on any number of sites. I don't get it. Is this punishment for Dennis Lundy? The legions of sports betting degenerates like me demand a point spread!
Anyways, the game can be seen on bigtennetwork.com for $2.99. I was very upset initially at being charged money for these streams, but I will say that the product has improved over last year, as at least now there are professional announcers. Not enough of an upgrade to justify charging that much money, yet an upgrade nonetheless. Another nice feature is that any game you purchase gets archived, and you can watch it later and fast forward if you so choose. I'm not trying to schill for the Big Ten Network here, because I still strongly dislike them, I'm just offering a review of what your $2.99 will get you.
So Go 'Cats, and comment here if you're watching.
