TCU forward Nikola Cerina to transfer to Northwestern

10

According to Scout.com's Brian Snow, Northwestern basketball has added Nikola Cerina, a sophomore forward for TCU. Cerina, a 6'9" 245 pound forward from Serbia, has averaged about 6 points and 4 rebounds per game in his two seasons in Fort Worth. Per transfer rules, Cerina will sit out the upcoming season and be eligible in 2012-13, giving him a year to learn NU's complex Princeton offense. While Cerina probably won't contend for All-Big Ten honors any time soon, he'll add some much needed depth in the post and give NU someone with college experience to help replace Luka Mirkovic and Davide Curletti.
