Campus Update: We have less space for tailgating this year, and the school is one big construction site

Today my girlfriend and I took a day trip to her old neighborhood in the North Shore. After eating some amazing food, she agreed to join me on a little trip through campus while I took some pictures of the ongoing construction.

Our first stop was Ryan Field, and I noticed there's something going on at the stadium.

I wasnt able to go near the north endzone and get a picture of the field. Maybe they're putting in more cell phone towers or wifi signals in the stadium? My guess is as good as yours.

I've got a few more pictures on my flickr account.

After that, I wanted to take a nice walk with her down along the bike path on Lake Michigan.

I parked in the lot right near Kemper and noticed a big mess!!

(more construction pictures here)

We all know that the athletic department is building an indoor practice field/athletics facility, and also a parking garage near the beach.

Unfortunately, that nice new parking garage is going to take away one of the biggest tailgating lots we have on campus.

I was texting MNWildcat earlier today, and he wasnt too happy:

Oh Dammit. They ruined the best tailgate lot in the B1G in terms of view

Also, it gets worse.

The lot near Kemper is going to turn into green space. (That's where the NUMBAlums were tailgating last year, MNWildcat. )

This is a rendering from the former Kemper lot.

So in closing, it looks like we'll have to get our butts over to the lots near the soccer/lax fields bright and early to tailgate on the lake.

Or I could do what I usually do, bring a 6 or 12 pack of beer up on the EL from Chicago and meet up with people already tailgating.

If all of you are still up for more pictures, I took some of the general construction and other views of the lake
