After a strong showing during Senior Bowl practices, Kain Colter has reportedly suffered a major setback in his NFL Draft preparation. According to Rich Campbell of the Chicago Tribune, Colter will miss 8-12 weeks due to ankle surgery and will have to rely on a Pro Day in April to impress scouts. We also learned that Colter's injury this season was a cartilage issue in his ankle.

Colter played 6 games this season with cartilage issue in his ankle. Still practiced three days here. Showed good straight-line quickness.

Just yesterday, scouts were praising Colter's performance at Senior Bowl practices, and some even thought he could be drafted in the second or third round. Now, that looks all but impossible. More tough news for a player who couldn't catch a break this season.
