Northwestern's recruiting roll continues, as the Wildcats picked up a commitment from tight end superback Eric Eshoo.
Eshoo is a three-star prospect from Loyola Academy, but is originally from Wilmette. He has a .8467 rating on 247 Sports and is the 26th best prospect in the state of Illinois. He had offers from a number of mid-majors and, of course, Illinois. In fact, he committed to NU three days after this tweet.
Had an awesome visit yesterday at the University of Illinois! #B1G pic.twitter.com/9AYk0HshOS

Guess it wasn't that great! And he really, really wanted to see NU a while back:
Fun fact: @EricEshoo chose to go to the #Northwestern-OSU game rather than a Homecoming dance at Wilmette (Ill.) Loyola Academy in 2013.

Eshoo received his NU offer only a week ago. He is the 14th commit in the Wildcats' 2016 class. NU is now ranked 29th nationally — squeezed between Notre Dame and Mississippi State — and eighth in the Big Ten. Check out Eshoo's highlights below.
