The commitments keep coming in for Pat Fitzgerald and his staff. A week after snagging two 2020 commitments on consecutive days in Cam Porter and Jaheem Joseph, NU has another 2019 recruit in three-star Malik Washington. The Lilburn, Ga. native joins the class of 2019 on the same day NU got a commitment from 2019 DB Brandon Joseph.

Washington had a couple of SEC offers, including Tennessee and Auburn, but he’ll head to Big Ten country upon graduation. 247Sports.com has him as the 53rd-best athlete in the country. Georgia is quickly becoming a recruiting stronghold for Northwestern — eight current Wildcats hail from the Peach State. Washington is from the same town as running back Jesse Brown, though they attended different high schools.
According to Washington’s Hudl tape, he logged nearly 1,500 all-purpose yards in 2018 with 14 touchdowns. He’s only 5-foot-9, but it’s evident that Washington is super hard to tackle. He also shows great ball skills in the secondary. Here’s a look at his senior year highlights:
