Monday Sips Loves The Coaches Poll

- The new basketball polls were released today, and some of the nation's coaches were apparently quite impressed by Northwestern's play in the Charleston Classic, as the Wildcats got 22 votes in that poll, good enough for 32nd. Meanwhile, the AP voters are clearly biased hacks who hate Northwestern, as NU received zero votes in that poll, which is a bit surprising giving that everyone and their mother is getting AP votes, including Oregon State, Kent State, Saint Louis, New Mexico State, Long Beach State, Harvard, Illinois, Minnesota, Middle Tennessee and Marshall. What does this mean? Absolutely nothing this early, but Northwestern is probably two more undefeated weeks away from being ranked in the coaches poll, which would be cool.

- Drew Crawford was named Big Ten player of the week and Charleston Classic MVP for his performance this weekend.

- A reputable news source has ranked Northwestern football ahead of Ohio State in a Big Ten power ranking.

- Bowl projections for Northwestern: a bunch of crappy ones. OTE says the Hawaii Bowl against Missouri (EFF YOU JEREMY MACLIN). Adam Rittenberg and Brian Bennett at the aforementioned reputable news source say the TicketCity Bowl against a Big 12 opponent. It's beyond me why the TicketCity Bowl would want Northwestern back after there were about 50 NU fans in attendance last year, but it could happen I guess.
