Blargh.
Despite a dominant performance from Drew Crawford, who scored 34 points on 13 of 17 shooting, Northwestern couldn't quite hang with Creighton and suffered their second loss of the season. John Shurna had a quiet 18 points on just 6 of 14 shooting, and Davide Curletti had a surprising 10 off the bench, highlighted by an and-one put back dunk (really), but that was about it offensively.
And that would have been enough against most teams, but Creighton was every bit as good as advertised on offense, as Doug McDermott dropped an effortless 27 and got plenty of help from his teammates, who hit 12 of 21 threes overall. NU switched between man to man and 1-3-1, but neither was the slightest bit effective.
So NU will head into Big Ten play at 10-2. Next up: a trip to Ohio State. Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeit.
