Northwestern Bowl Game: Wildcats to Play Texas A&M in Meineke Car Care Bowl

So, Northwestern just got brutalized in basketball, but good news came of it: by luck I ended up standing next to a bunch of dudes on the football team, and a bit after halftime, a buzz went through them that they were going to the Meineke Car Care Bowl of Texas in Houston against the Texas A&M Aggies. Teddy Greenstein got it first last night, and NU sports confirmed via Twitter earlier by retweeting the Texas Bowl's twitter account.

Northwestern jumped Penn State, Illinois, and Purdue to go to a decent bowl. Now we gotta sell tickets.

This is awesome. Instead of playing a MAC team in Detroit in the dead of winter, we're headed to Houston to play a Big 12 - or is it SEC? - team. The Aggies fired Mike Sherman after the year, but may well be the best 6-6 team in the country: they only lost one game by more than a touchdown and went to overtime - including quadruple overtime - twice.

See y'all in Houston on New Year's Eve! There is no limit to the amount of chopped and screwed rap music I will post on this site over the next month.
