Another trip to the Kohl Center, another loss.
NU couldn't get a stop to save their lives in the first half, and trailed by as many as 16 early in the second half, but somehow still made a game of it, cutting the deficit to 5 with about 6 minutes left. But from there, Jordan Taylor and Jon Leuer took over, and Wisconsin hit their free throws down the stretch to make the final margin a somewhat deceptive 15.
I actually thought Northwestern played pretty damn well, notably Davide Curletti, who had an out-of-nowhere 18 points and 6 rebounds, but to win at the Kohl Center, you have to play near perfect AND hope Wisconsin has an off night, and it was far from an off-night for Wisconsin.
With the loss, NU can now finish no better than 8th in the Big Ten, and they'll likely need to win their next 2 games to even make the NIT. Sigh.
