2011 NIT Tournament: Northwestern 70, Wisconsin-Milwaukee 61, postgame thread

So, after two straight years of first-round NIT losses, Northwestern has a win in a basketball postseason game for the first time in 17 years. Huh. Here we come, second round of the NIT.

NU was in control after a spurt in the first half and held on by about ten for most of the game. John and Juice combined for 45 points on 9-21 shooting from downtown, and NU's 1-3-1 forced 16 turnovers. Pretty all-around good performance for NU, plus, Loretta is happy Wisconsin-Milwaukee covered the 9.5 point spread.

Next up are the Eagles of Boston College, who mercilessly handled McNeese State their last time out, although the date for that matchup is unknown. We can hope for Long Beach State to pull out a W tonight, but most likely, this was the last game for Juice Thompson in the friendly confines of Welsh-Ryan.

In depressing news, my work went late and I couldn't make it on time. :(.

Parlay here bout everything that went down and ugly yellow shoes.
