Today, Northwestern University student-athletes gathered together to practice.
As Allen Iverson once astutely observed, practice? We're talking about practice? Practice is not a game, not the game we go out and die for. Today, for us, the fans, means little, just that the team exists. We're not allowed to watch or attend practice, and the stories surrounding it provided to us by the media, while certainly serving as sustenance in this desert of a thing we call August, aren't direct summaries of what's happening, just descriptions of the fact that its happening perhaps with a little commentary on the players or team in general.
But after having written all of that... today is a pretty good day. Because we only have 26 left before that whole football thing and less posts like this. Clock's ticking.
