Women's hoops: NU falls to No. 11 OSU, 82-72

Quick update from the airport lounge at JFK. NU hung tough against the No. 11 Ohio State Buckeyes in Columbus, but fell 82-72, despite a career-high 23 points from Dannielle Diamant. The Wildcats got to within 72-67 with 1:59 left, and that's when my Internet feed crapped out, so I'm not exactly sure what happened down the stretch.

Kendall Hackney chipped in 15 points, and Morgan Jones had 11 points and a team-high 7 boards. Tailor Jones was a nice spark off the bench with 10 points, and Karly Roser had 8 points and 8 assists, but also 7 turnovers. The Wildcats played basically six players. Alex Cohen, who normally spells Diamant, didn't play, and Meghan McKeown only got four minutes. For Ohio State, Taylor Hill scored 24, and Samantha Prahalis scored 20.

It's a tough loss, but the Wildcats did well in keeping things close. NU now drops to 11-6, 1-3 in the Big Ten. Up next is a home game on Monday against Illinois, which is 0-3 in the conference, and 6-11 overall.
