Week 8 Opponent Links: Nebraska

by Chris Johnson (@ChrisDJohnsonn)

If Northwestern hopes to compete for a Legends Division Title, defending home turf against Nebraska is a necessary step. The Wildcats hope to rekindle last year's magic in Lincoln, while Nebraska visits Ryan Field fresh off a bye week, having spent the last two weeks heling up and  preparing for NU. Here are some links to get you prepared for Saturday's crucial divisional showdown.

You can't go wrong with Paul Myerberg's excellent preseason team previews. We're halfway through the season now, but that doesn't diminish the proficiency of Myerberg's analysis. The Huskers came in at No. 16 on his preseason list.

Another generic preseason preview of the Huskers, this one from ESPN (insider only).

After getting blown out at Ohio State, Nebraska coach Bo Pelini is not making any drastic changes, writes Sam McKeown of Big Red Today.

detailed breakdown of Northwestern from Husker Extra.

It's no secret that Nebraska was in on Kain Colter's recruitment. The dual-threat QB didn't end up with the Huskers -- and for that NU fans are understandably thankful -- but Colter did maintain ties with one player who did commit to Nebraska.

Nebraska coach Bo Pelini is ready for the Wildcats' quarterback tandem.

Preparing for Taylor Martinez, improved throwing mechanics or not, is not easy. Luckily, NU used freshman Stephen Buckley in practice to  mimic Martinez's dual-threat skill set.

The star turn of Venric Mark has been fascinating to follow. ESPN's Big Ten blog offers a dialed-in profile of NU's newest offensive star.

This game holds Legends Division Championship implications. NU fans are justifiably geeked up, an hype-filled sentiment spreading around campus in the lead-up to Saturday's 2:30 CT  kick. Don't know what to think of NU's gameday atmosphere? The Daily Northwestern fills you in.
