First of all, let me attempt to post this without it turning into an all-out Carmody debate.
Am I the only person who sees parallels all over the place between the tough decisions whether to keep Lovie Smith and the Carmody discussion?
I won't list all the comparisons. Hopefully, the discussion can bring some to light. To keep it general, I see two coaches who a pretty good argument can be made either way. Both have had good and fairly unprecedented years in their tenure. They are fairly well respected with some obvious weaknesses, but also some tough recent times.
And before someone tells me there is no comparison between a professional organization, and NU, I'd argue that a good argument can be made that Lovie has been fairly well victimized by a poor administration.
Just thought I'd throw it out there.
