Northwestern NCAA Tournament Bubble Rooting Interests: 2/28/2012

With Northwestern sitting squarely on the NCAA tournament bubble, it's time for a new daily feature, in which I take a look at every game relevant to Northwestern's NCAA chances and tell you whom you should be rooting for.

A few games tonight after nothing last night.

Kansas St. Wildcats at Texas A&M Aggies (+4), 6 central, ESPN2

Team to root for: Texas A&M

Kansas State is probably in thanks to their sweep of Missouri but if they fall apart down the stretch they could come up short of the tournament.

DePaul Blue Demons at West Virginia Mountaineers (-13), 6 central, ESPN3

Team to root for: DePaul

West Virginia has lost seven out of nine including bad losses to St. John's and Pittsburgh, but they have enough good wins early in the season to be in for now. However, a home loss to awful DePaul would probably knock them out of the picture.

Connecticut Huskies at Providence Friars (+3.5), 6 central, ESPN3

Team to root for: Providence

UConn has strong computer numbers but they've lost seven out of ten and now have to go on the road to play a better-than-their-record-indicates Providence team.

Xavier Musketeers at Saint.Louis Billikens (-7.5), 8 central, CBS College

Team to root for: St. Louis

Xavier is right on the last four in/last four out line with Northwestern, and a win over 22-6 St. Louis would go a long way. The potential upside here is that St. Louis has fallen from lock status after an inexplicable loss to 5-23 Rhode Island over the weekend.

Central Florida Knights at Memphis Tigers (-11). 8 central, no TV

Team to root for: Memphis

We've been rooting against Memphis in the space over the last week but at this point they're pretty much a luck, so now we're rooting for them to put the nail in Central Florida's NCAA coffin.
