One Less Day Til Football Season, No. 85, Mark Szott

More catchup - there's actually 80 days, but I'm behind.

I'm really searching for the Northwestern connection in this Euro 2012 Tournament, and I don't think it's going to happen.

No. 85, Mark Szott, Redshirt freshman, Superback

Who he be: Szott is a 6-foot-4, 240-pound superback hailing from Naperville, where he played for Wabonsie Valley. The redshirt freshman got three stars from most recruiting services and had offers from some mid-tier schools like Air Force, Central Michigan, and Northern Illinois. He redshirted last year in his first year in the program.

What would Mark Szott's name be if he got same-sex married to Venric Mark and took his new partner's name as his own?: Mark Mark. Glad you asked.

What would be a good name for a bar owned by someone named "Mark Mark"?: I dunno. Like, the Mark II Lounge or something? I bet that's not taken.

Looking forward: With the cupboard essentially bare at superback - it's Szott, Brian Smith, Evan Watkins, and Tim Riley, who played a lot at fullback in past - the redshirt freshman should have a chance to get in the mix. He's of a Drake Dunsmore build - Dunsmore was 6-foot-3, 235, Szott is an inch taller and five pounds heavier - he could factor in as that sort of player, although I'm not quite sure how fast he is.
