No. 48, Roderick Goodlow, junior, LB

Who he be: Roderick is an outside linebacker who is trying to make a return to relevance in the Northwestern linebacker corps after injuries sidelined an otherwise bright career. First off, the speedy 6-foot-2 linebacker had some offers out of high school from Wisconsin, Arkansas, and Nebraska, so teams wanted him. Goodlow played a decent amount, especially on special teams, but with some reps at linebacker, as a true freshman. He seemed like a very good athlete and the type of player who could run around and make some tackles from the linebacker spot. However, he tore an ACL in preseason camp as a sophomore and hasn't seen significant action since. I'm not really sure if this is his junior or senior year - NUSports lists him as a senior, but he didn't play as a sophomore, so that's a redshirt if NU wants to use it that way.

Signs there are too many videos of people rapping on Youtube: "We have a music video for a song called "Roderick That" and a music video by a rap video that calls themselves "Goodlow".

To save you the time: Roderick has like, one or two good lines about the Butler-Duke national championship game, and I stopped listening to Goodlow after about 25 seconds because I couldn't take anymore.

Tidbits from the player profile of Roderick Badlow, Northwestern senior LB:

Vital stats: 5-foot-4, 388 pounds

2011: Played in all 12 games... recorded 1.5 tackles... set Big Ten single game record by pissing himself nine times in fear seven times vs. Nebraska, tied Northwestern single season record by pissing himself 52 times... recovered one fumble vs. Eastern Illinois, returned for -11 yards and an EIU safety... nearly recorded touchdown-saving tackle against Iowa, instead was run over by ballcarrier on goal line... Deflected pass against Minnesota, unfortunately dropped into arms of waiting Gophers receiver in end zone... named Northwestern defensive player of the week by Army coaches after accidentally reinjuring Dan Persa's Achilles tendon... Unanimous 54th team all-Big Ten selection by both coaches and media... missed Meineke Car Care Bowl of Texas due to bad case of the runs.

The Badlow File

Q: If you could dine with anyone from any period in history, who would it be and why?

A: Joseph Stalin - long been a personal hero of mine

Q: Name five favorite songs (and artist) on your I-Pod:

A: How You Remind Me (Nickelback), Arms Wide Open (Creed), Photograph (Nickelback), Behind Blue Eyes (Limp Bizkit), Someday (Nickelback)

Q: The best book I have ever read is and why?

A: Anything by Tucker Max

Q: The person that inspires me the most is:

A: The Unabomber. Actually, scratch that, Stalin again.

Q: Best thing about Northwestern is:

A: That one professor nobody likes to talk about who denies the Holocaust

Q: Which FORMER NU football student-athlete has had the most impact on your Wildcat career and why?

A: Dennis Lundy

Looking forward: If Goodlow is healthy as talented an athlete as he seemed to be as a freshman, there's work for him. The linebacker corps is crowded, but I see him grabbing some playing time alongside younger players as an outside linebacker.
