For those interested in buying single-game tickets for Northwestern’s Oct. 20 date with Nebraska, you may be out of luck. The school made it official Thursday with an announcement that fans looking for a seat at the home contest with the Cornhuskers will need to invest in a season-ticket package, the sales of which are up 58 percent from this time last year. That’s a decent-sized jump, and it comes despite an increase of $2 to $3.50 in average ticket price, according to Crain’s Chicago Business. But it appears NU is looking to generate even more buzz when single-game tickets for the remaining six home contest go on sale Monday, July 23.
Which is why it makes sense that after months of speculation, the NU athletic department, according to sources, could reveal the school’s new Under Armour Jerseys sometime next week.
The Wildcats are hoping to make a splash leading up to Big Ten media days on July 26 with the debut of new under armour jerseys, which sources say could be out early next week.
Ekker’s words offer no definitive release date, so take this report at face value. Early next week would be as good a time as any—revealing the Wildcats’ new threads is a pretty good way to spark fan interest right before tickets go on sale—to release the uniforms and make a bold fashion statement heading into Big Ten media days, which begin Thursday. In case you forgot, here’s Under Armour’s latest teaser video for its comprehensive NU jersey revamp:
The uniforms should be revealed at some point before the season begins. Whether that time is next week remains to be seen. Stay tuned.
