One Less Day Til Football Season, No. 15, Daniel Jones and P.J. Carollo

Yeah, so I have to do two of these today for all this to make sense. Plus, there's two of them in this post, so hey!

No. 15, P.J. Carollo, RS Freshman, quarterback

Who he be: P.J. is a dope walk-on quarterback. He was a backup as a junior year of high school at Lake Forest to Notre Dame's Tommy Rees, which must mean he's awful. However, unlike Rees, he won a playoff game in high school, his team's first in 14 years! He was unrecruited tho and picked Northwestern. His uncle is the Big Ten Director of Officials, so perhaps NU should put him in games just to see if refs will call roughing the passer every down. (He was the only person to come up in the photo queue when you type in "Carollo", as you can see up to the right.)

Looking forward: Walk-on! Maybe he'll get some snaps someday, but, y'know, walk-on QB's tend not to.

No. 15, Daniel Jones, sophomore, cornerback

Who he be: DJ is a sophomore from Tallahassee, where he went to... Florida High School? That can't be the real name. Is this like when Dillon played "Texas South" in the Championship game that one year? Anyway, Daniel only had two stars and his only other offer was from FIU, even though Rivals says the 5-foot-11 CB runs a 4.43 40. Daniel redshirted as a freshman and was pressed into duty after Jordan Mabin was injured against Michigan State. MSU went on to tear up Northwestern through the air - no fault of Jones', I think, Kirk Cousins and B.J. Cunningham will do that, especially if you've never played before. Ryan Tannehill would also throw for 330 yards, because, y'know, bollocks, but again, not all Jones.

Looking forward: Guh, it's so little fun when you have to replace two corners. I expect Northwestern's secondary to get rocked this season. Jones is in my opinion, a probable starter alongside RS freshman Nick Van Hoose, with Quinn Evans and Demetrius Dugar the likely backups, although those two will also be giving the other two runs at the starting spots. Either way, teams will look to pass against NU.
