Sippin' on Purple Blogpoll Ballot, Week 2

A place in my ballot is JUST OUT OF NORTHWESTERN'S REACH. (Basically, I enjoy the fact that there are lots and lots of pictures of Northwestern football in my queue again.)
A place in my ballot is JUST OUT OF NORTHWESTERN'S REACH. (Basically, I enjoy the fact that there are lots and lots of pictures of Northwestern football in my queue again.)

So here's how this is going to work this year, guys! Every Monday, I'm going to run down my Blogpoll ballot. You guys are going to tell me why I'm an idiot and how I can fix it. The poll closes Wednesday. Then we'll go over my ballot (if I changed it based on you guys telling me I'm an idiot) and the overall poll. Sound good? Well, if not, deal with it or I'll kill you dead.

Thoughts are after the jump:

Why no Northwestern: Quite simply, I don't think Northwestern is one of the best 25 teams in the country. Sure, Northwestern is the only team with two wins over BCS teams in the country - I'll keep saying it until it isn't true - but that's a middling Syracuse team and an alright Vanderbilt team. And both wins were close to the very end and could have gone either way. So I don't think NU is in there yet. I wouldn't pick Northwestern to be the favorite in a matchup with any of these teams. However, if they win games they should win - and maybe impress while doing so - they'll creep into my rankings as other schools drop out, as I'm sure they already have with many other voters.

B1G problems: Wisconsin and Nebraska obviously dropped out. Wisky looked pretty bad at first against NIU, so I'm not sure why I had them ranked so high. Losing to UCLA isn't the worst thing, so I rewarded the Bruins by putting them high on this list rather than punishing Nebraska in my mind, although I couldn't continue to have the Huskers in the poll.

Other stuff: I'm obviously new to this and deeply ashamed of my poll... Not sure why I had Utah in there... Yeah, Notre Dame won, but it was by three points against Purdue, so I dropped them out for a BYU squad that was probably my 27th or 28th team after whipping Washington State in the opener.
