Northwestern's offense struggled, but the Wildcats scored 17 points in the final quarter to secure their second victory in as many tries, beating Vanderbilt 23-13 to move to 2-0 on the season.

Once again, QB snaps were split between Kain Colter and Trevor Siemian in the second half: Northwestern only scored three points in the first half, but Siemian came in to rally NU to the lead, after which Jordan Rodgers had an unfortunate fumble in the last two minutes that gave Northwestern the ball, which Colter used to notch a 29-yard touchdown run.

After allowing nearly 500 yards through the air in Week 1, Northwestern's secondary recovered to hold Rodgers to 17 of 33 passing while only allowing 3.1 yards per carry. The offense looked pretty awful for the majority of the game, but when push came to shove, they got the points they needed for the win.

Again, a less-than-encouraging performance, but another win. Northwestern is 2-0, and regardless of what you have to say about the way they played in their first two games, that W-L is all that really matters.
