Sometimes, as a Northwestern sports fan, you get down on yourself. I know, it sounds weird, but, sometimes things just don't go the right way for Northwestern. And you start to wonder if they ever will.
That's why this was fun. I will never, ever, ever, ever, ever, get tired of Northwestern basketball players going out on a court and absolutely pounding the living tar out of an opponent. Whatever team that opponent is.
Dave Sobolewski looked like a different player, dropping a career-high 25. Sanjay Lumpkin had a double-double. Tre Demps hit 5-of-7 shots in garbage time. And from the opening tip to the buzzer, this was Northwestern's ballgame.
Is UIC very good? No, of course not. But after dropping a game to Illinois State, a comfortable victory was more than welcome, and that's what we got.
Props to James Montgomery III for scoring, bully to Chris Collins for not getting Aaron Liberman in the game. More basketball talk tomorrow.
AND OH YEAH, REVENGGGGGGGGGEEEEEEEEE
