Purdue 74, Northwestern 43: Wildcats Embarrassed Again

There really isn't much to say at this point. Northwestern is really really bad at basketball without Jared Swopshire (and all their other injured guys). This, from the ESPN box score, about sums up this one:

The last three games have been about as bad it gets for Northwestern basketball. They've lost by a combined 80 points. Two of those games were at home, and today's game was against a Purdue team that had lost its past three games by a combined 61 points. And the game was over halfway through the first half.

In fact, to find the last time Northwestern lost by at least 80 points over a three game span, you've got to go all the way back to January of 1998, Kevin O'Neill's first year in Evanston. That's right, even the historically awful 1999-00 team never had a three game stretch this bad.

Next, Northwestern plays Ohio State, a team they somehow competed with two weeks ago. Difficult to see that happening again.
