Commitment Number Six for the 2014 class is Tommy Doles, a three-star offensive tackle from Grand Rapids, Michigan who held offers from Michigan, Iowa State and others before giving his verbal pledge Friday night. Doles becomes the first offensive lineman to join the 2014 class, and the second lineman (joining Ben Oxley), period. We'll have more on Doles tomorrow and how he could fit into Northwestern's O-line plans over the next couple of seasons.
The biggest immediate takeaway, in the absence of deeper analysis, is the Wildcats nabbed another talented trench denizen to add to their growing pool of young offensive line talent. The guard and tackle spots will be well-stocked with talented youth over the next few years and Doles ensures that trend continues through the 2014 class.
There's more: in maybe the greatest and most prompt example of personal-newsworthiness-to-tweet-frequency, Doles beamed out his first tweet Friday night communicating -- you guessed it -- news of his commitment to the Wildcats.
For my first "tweet" I'd like to say that I officially committed to play football at Northwestern University! #
