2014 Ath. Dareian Watkins Will Choose Between Northwestern and Michigan State Monday

Six commitments sit in Northwestern's 2014 class as of Sunday. On Monday, the Wildcats might just add their seventh: Galion (Ohio) Ath. Dareian Watkins. The 6'2'', 192-pound projected wideout plans to make a decision at 12 noon, and he's narrowed down his list of more than 20 offers to two programs: Northwestern and Michigan State.

Adding Watkins would make another excellent addition to this 2014 crop, which is quickly shaping up as the best recruiting class of Pat Fitzgerald's tenure. Watkins' decision could also have major implications for 2015 prospect LaCario Davison, Watkins' brother from another mother (no, seriously) who earlier this spring told us he was "dead set" on Northwestern. So Watkins decision could be a two-for-one-type deal, prospectively.

These recruiting decisions are never easy to predict, and I'd be lying if I said I knew which cap (green or purple) Watkins will slide on at lunchtime Monday. If I was really pressed for a decision -- and his visit to Evanston over the weekend, along with direct conversations with Watkins himself, is informing my intuition here -- I'd pick Northwestern.
