Parrker Westphal Updates His Recruitment

Since Northwestern has a bye this week, InsideNU's Chris Johnson and Kevin Trahan headed down to Bolingbrook to watch top NU target Parrker Westphal play. Even though the traffic on I-294 tried to stop us, we made it to Bolingbrook in the second quarter. From the time we were there, Wetphal had an interception, two more near-interceptions, a couple nice punt returns and even a punt (punting is not his forte). Pat Fitzgerald and assistant coach Adam Cushing were in attendance, along with two assistant coaches from Michigan State. Westphal's final three schools are NU, MSU and Vanderbilt. Here are some notes from the video:

- Westphal will visit Vanderbilt this weekend and plans on seeing NU and MSU again before making a decision. He's going to try to make the NU-Ohio State game, but may have a conflict.

- Fitz took over Westphal's recruitment, but Westphal said he's always been a part of the recruiting process and MSU's Mark Dantonio and Vanderbilt's James Franklin are also recruiting him.

- He'll reevaluate after the official visits, but as far as a timeline, "nothing is set in stone."
