————————————

- There were two changes on this week's depth chart and both involved Venric Mark. Mark is now the sole starting running back, with Treyvon Green and Mike Trumpy listed as co-backups. Mark looks likely to play in his first game since the season opener at Cal, and it will be interesting to see what NU does with the backups. Trumpy got a lot of the carries against Maine, while Green reportedly was visibly upset on the sidelines, but it might be too much to read into that. It will be interesting to see if NU does something different in the triple option game with both Green and Mark — that's a unique possibility that NU hasn't been able to explore all season. Also don't count out Trumpy, who was the primary backup last season.

- Mark is also now listed as a co-starter at punt returner with Tony Jones. Like the Maine game, he's listed as a co-starter with Stephen Buckley at kick returner. Will Mark return kicks? Pat Fitzgerald said he's not afraid to have Mark back there if he's healthy, but it will be interesting to see if NU lets Mark risk further injury in the return game.

- Despite ongoing speculation that Matt Harris could take over the starting corner spot from Dwight White, White is still listed as the starter. Those two are still battling at that position, but it's not too much of a surprise to see White as the starter. He has more experience, he's more physically imposing — he has a year on Harris in the weight room — and aside from some deep balls, he hasn't been as bad as most people are saying.
