It's going to be cold and windy as Northwestern and Wisconsin square off at Ryan Field. While Northwestern got a victory in their first Big Ten game last week, the Badgers open their conference slate today.
Melvin Gordon has been tearing up defenses so far this season, having already totaled 612 yards on the ground and eight touchdowns. At the same time, Northwestern's front seven has stood tall in its first several outings. Penn State could only muster 50 rushing yards last week in NU's surprising 29-6 win in Happy Valley.
The Wildcats will be missing arguably their best defensive player in Ibraheim Campbell, as well as Keith Watkins II and Solomon Vault, but Northwestern has responded well to injury to this point. Anthony Walker stepped up big in Colin Ellis's place last week and Godwin Igwebuike has proven to be a capable fix at safety.
Wisconsin remains roughly a 7.5 point favorite, yet our staff is fairly split in picks for the game. It should be a close one in Evanston, so join us right here to discuss the game. We won't be going anywhere.
