Trevor Siemian injured against Purdue, on crutches

It didn't look good.

Caylor Arnold-USA TODAY Sports

After a solid start to the game, Trevor Siemian went down against Purdue in the second quarter and was helped off the field by trainers. He wasn't putting much weight on his leg (if any) and was down for quite awhile. It looks like the pile just fell on him. He is out for the game.

Matt Alviti has been in at times to run the option, but Northwestern put Zack Oliver in to start the next drive.

Siemian was back out on the sideline during the third quarter in sweats and on crutches. We'll continue to give any updates as we get them.
