Northwestern vs. Purdue halftime notes

NU jumped out to a quick 21-0 lead and leads 24-7. Siemian left the game with a leg injury and won't return.

-Trevor Siemian was stuffed on a QB sneak on 4th-and-1 and was injured on the play. It appeared to be a lower leg injury, perhaps his left knee. He won't return. Zack Oliver took the first couple snaps after the injury, but Alviti has also been used, mostly in a limited option-heavy package. Perhaps the two QB system is back, at least in Siemian's absence?

-Tony Jones returned a punt 64-yards for a touchdown. That's NU's first return touchdown of the season.

-Northwestern forced four turnovers in the first half, and potential fifth was overturned after review.

-After trading interceptions on the first two possessions, including this beauty from Purdue, Siemian found Dan Vitale for a 25-yard score on the play following a 44-yard run for Treyvon Green.

-Kyle Prater is looking strong again today, with 2 catches for 41 yards including a sweet grab on the sideline to convert a 4th-and-14.
