Gamethread: Northwestern vs. Mississippi Valley State

NU should win this one!

Marc Lebryk-USA TODAY Sports

It's a sad day for me today. For the first time in four years, I will not be attending the Northwestern vs. Mississippi Valley State game. I was honestly considering making the three hour drive from Iowa to Evanston, but alas, work obligations at the SB Nation mothership got in the way.

This NU-MVSU series truly is puzzling. The Wildcats have played the Delta Devils in each of the past four seasons, more than any other non-Big Ten team in that span. That's puzzling, given that there are no similarities or ties between these schools — they don't recruit in the same places, they're on different levels competitively and academically, and they aren't close geographically.

At any rate, NU must have learned that this is an easy win, and it should be again this year, as MVSU is currently the worst team on the Wildcats' schedule, according to KenPom (349th out of 351 teams). This should, theoretically, be a blowout. Here's how you can watch said blowout if you're hoping to watch NU with something.

Time: 5 p.m. CT
TV: BTN
Online stream: BTN2GO
Radio: 87.7 FM The Game in Chicagoland
Odds: NU opened as a 19.5-point favorite. The line is now up to 21.
KenPom: NU has a 96 percent chance to win, with a projected score of 76-58.
