JerShon Cobb out for Northwestern vs. MVSU

The senior is battling injuries.

Northwestern senior guard JerShon Cobb is in street clothes and won't play against Mississippi Valley State today. According to the BTN broadcast, Cobb has "multiple injuries." This comes after Chris Collins noted that Cobb is battling an injury and that he could miss a considerable amount of time as NU looks out for his "long-term health."

"He's going to be injured. He's got an old body, and he's battling, which I appreciate. He's had a torn labrum in his hip, he's had knee, he's had foot injuries. He's not moving the way that he used to be able to, which now he just has to adjust and try to figure out how to be successful," Collins said on Thursday.

Cobb has struggled on the court this year, playing just 55 percent of available minutes with a 79.1 offensive rating, according to KenPom. Tre Demps will start against MVSU, but this could mean we see more of freshman guard Scottie Lindsey.
