Following a stunning 101-point scoring effort in a monster win over Mississippi Valley State — a game that somehow included 78 possessions and even more dunks — Northwestern has two consecutive dates with Directional Michigan schools.
First up is Central Michigan, which is probably the worst of the DMUs. However, that's not that much of a knock on the Chippewas, who are 6-1 and ranked 179th in the KenPom ratings. Keno Davis' team is kind of just average at everything. They run an average tempo (don't expect another 78-possession game), while they're a bit above average on offense and a bit below average on defense. This game could help NU improve on the offense rhythm it found against MVSU.
This is a critical portion of the schedule for the Wildcats, who should be favored (or close to it) in all of their next five games. Here's how you can watch the kickoff to the NU vs. DMU showcase tonight.
