Northwestern plays Indiana in basketball, which is cool. It sure would be neat if Northwestern beat Indiana twice in the same year. I don't think that happens often.
THAT SAID: Winning tonight is not the important thing.
Here's the scenario:
1. Nikola Cerina is out, suspended, having gotten into a little scuffle with LaQuinton Ross of Ohio State.
2. Alex Olah's ankles are injured. Both of them. He's questionable, per Teddy Greenstein.
3. Tonight's game is at 7:15 p.m., well after sundown, meaning it is no longer the Sabbath.
That means Chris Collins has two choices.
1. Go small.
2. PLAY AARON LIBERMAN.
Tonight is the night for yarmulke, and I could not be more excited. Our Jewish hero might play more than ten minutes of a game Northwestern ostensibly is trying to win. And that's pretty much the greatest thing ever to happen.
I will watch, if only for my Jewishness. Go Cats. Go Jews. Go Jewcats.
