What You Should Know

Had everything gone as planned, Prather wouldn't have been a Wildcat. However, few things tend to go as planned in college recruiting, and Northwestern found itself with an open scholarship in January when former NU pledge Noah Westerfield decommitted.

Enter Prather.

The Wildcats are going hard after the state of Tennessee in the 2015 class, but their first strike in the Volunteer State was Prather. An under-the-radar player, Prather had no major conference offers before NU came calling. However, the Wildcats will hope to turn him into Evanston's next lightly-recruited star linebacker.

According to 247Sports, Prather had 92 tackles, 8 sacks, two interceptions and a forced fumble during his senior season.

"When they offered today, I called my dad and he said 'what are we waiting for?' I called Coach (Pat) Fitz(gerald) right back and was committed in a matter of five minutes," Prather told 247Sports.
