Northwestern has picked up its second 2015 basketball commit in 6-foot-7 power forward Dererk Pardon. A native of Cleveland (Villa Angela-St. Joseph), Pardon is rated as a three-star prospect by 247 Sports and listed offers from Pittsburgh, Dayton and Xavier. He joins three-star point guard Jordan Ash in NU's 2015 class.
Pardon fills a definite need for NU, which has struggled to find a power forward and was looking at possible graduate transfers to fill the position.
Pardon is NU's eighth recruit under Chris Collins. He joins the 2014 class of Bryant McIntosh, Vic Law, Scottie Lindsey, Johnnie Vassar and Gavin Skelly in the 2014 class, along with Yale graduate transfer Jeremiah Kreisburg and 2015 recruit Ash.
