Northwestern takes on Cal today at 2:30 CT on ABC/ESPN2. It's a game of unknowns for both teams, with Northwestern trying to rejuvenate its offense after a down year and Cal trying to turn everything around after a dismal 1-11 season in 2013.
There are a lot of underlying storylines here. Sonny Dykes and Pat Fitzgerald clearly aren't good friends after Dykes accused the Wildcats of faking injuries in their win last year, and Fitzgerald has made clear that he can't wait to walk across the field and shake Dykes' hand after NU wins. But there are other storylines, as well. Three former NU commits are on the Cal depth chart, and one — linebacker Ray Davison — will start.
