Northwestern Wildcats vs. Minnesota Golden Gophers: Start time, TV coverage, how to watch online, betting line, more

Due to Hurricane Joaquin's approach toward the Atlantic Coast, the Big Ten Network has moved Michigan's game at Maryland up to noon E.T. from its originally scheduled time of 8 p.m. E.T.

First off, if you're reading this in the Mid-Atlantic region, please stay safe this weekend.

As far as how the time change impacts viewership for No. 16 Northwestern's matchup with Minnesota at noon E.T, it will move the game to BTN's alternate channel for most people outside of Chicago or Minneapolis.

Also, BTN moved the start of the Nebraska's game at Illinois back a half-hour from 3:30 p.m. ET to 4:02 p.m. ET seemingly to avoid a potential time conflict with the finishes of the Michigan-Maryland or Minnesota-Northwestern games.

Some have expressed frustration over why BTN did not move Northwestern's game to the primetime slot at 8 p.m. ET. On the surface the move would make sense, but logistically, it could have gotten tricky. Northwestern is one of three Big Ten and power-conference schools without permanent lights. Purdue and Michigan State are the others. It is possible that Northwestern would not have been able to move in the light installments in time. While unlikely that it would have been that difficult to roll in the lights by Saturday night, BTN decided not to make the move.
