Northwestern teases throwback uniforms, celebration of 20th anniversary of Rose Bowl season

New, comments

Following a 27-0 win over Minnesota to open Big Ten play, Northwestern Athletics released a teaser video that appears to feature a look at new uniforms that honor the 1995 team:

The celebration will be during the Wildcats' next home game, which is in two weeks, Oct. 17 against Iowa. That weekend is also homecoming at Northwestern.

The 1995 team, which featured current NU coach Pat Fitzgerald as a player, beat Notre Dame, and went through Big Ten play unbeaten en route to a 10-1 regular season record. The Wildcats won the Big Ten and earned a Rose Bowl berth.

The jerseys look to be a clean white look, but then an animation appears to be filling them in with black. They will be at least the sixth new uniform combination that the Wildcats have sported this season.
