Northwestern jumps to No. 17 in Amway Coaches Poll

The Wildcats' win at Wisconsin vaulted them up four spots

After winning a wild, controversial, edge-of-your-seat game against Wisconsin, Northwestern has moved up four spots in the Week 13 Coaches Poll to No. 17.

The four-spot jump from No. 21 to No. 17 makes Northwestern the fifth-highest ranked Big Ten School in the poll behind undefeated Iowa, which vaulted all the way up from No. 6 to No. 3 and claimed the Big Ten West title while doing so, Michigan State, who jumped to No. 6 with a win in Columbus, Ohio State, who fell to No. 8 after losing to the Spartans at home, and Michigan, which is tied at No. 12 after defeating Penn State 28-16. You can see the entire poll here.

The Northwestern win also pushed Wisconsin out of the top 25. The Badgers were ranked No. 20 last week. Here are the teams surrounding the Wildcats:

Week 13

The highest the Wildcats have risen in this poll this season is 14, a mark they could possibly reach or surpass with a win over Illinois at Soldier Field this coming Saturday.
