It's time to see what this Northwestern team is made of.
After getting embarrassed on their home floor by Michigan State, the Wildcats host an Iowa team that's in position to earn an NCAA tournament bid. Iowa is coming off a bad loss at home to Minnesota, so they'll be eager to right the ship and solidify their tournament status.
On the other hand, Northwestern is in the midst of a 10 game losing streak, the longest losing streak for the program since 1999. Chris Collins was disappointed with the team's intensity (or lack thereof) on Tuesday, and said it's the first time he's seen some of his players look defeated. It's not surprising that there's been at least a little drop-off, as any 10-game losing streak is going to deflate a team. Northwestern is now playing for pride and to develop the younger guys, but could spoil some team's postseason hopes in the next couple of games, which is always fun.
Iowa is a good offensive team (24th in offensive efficiency) and they're led by senior Aaron White. The most notorious Hawkeye player is surely seven-footer Adam Woodbury, who has a tendency to poke people in the eye. There's debate as to whether he's going to or should be suspended, but all signs point to him playing on Sunday.
