Following a relatively quiet offseason, Northwestern's football program will welcome members of its 2015 recruiting class to the program on Feb. 4 for National Signing Day. Even with de-commitments from some of the Wildcats' top targets, Pat Fitzgerald and co. still managed to put together a solid class. As of now, Northwestern's crop of new talent ranks 47th nationally, according to 247 Sports, the same rank they had last year. We'll be putting out player capsules like these in the lead up to National Signing Day so you can learn more about this new bunch of Wildcats.

BACKGROUND
Green is a sure-handed receiver with good, but not great, size. He generated a good deal of interest from a lot of big time programs, which suggests that he has the potential to become one of Northwestern's better players. His commitment was a nice recruiting victory for Pat Fitzgerald's staff, as Green, the son of former Notre Dame and Chicago Bears running back Mark Green, chose Northwestern over Iowa.
His high school, Adlai Stevenson, is just 19 miles north of Evanston via the Interstate 94, so Northwestern had a recruiting edge sheerly because of its proximity to his hometown. It also happens to be the best football school in Illinois--they capped a perfect 14-0 season with a 31-25 win over Homewood-Flossmoor in Illinois' State Championship game. Green knows what it feels like to win and win big games, and that's always a nice addition to any locker room.
A look at the above highlight tape shows that Green is a smooth runner, particularly given his size. He also is a bonafide threat after the catch and appears to not shy away from contact in the slightest. He's described in multiple scouting reports as "sneaky fast" despite a less than desirable 4.83 time in the 40-yard dash.
OUTLOOK
Ideally, Green will develop into a possession receiver who can be a solid option for Northwestern on the outside--the type of role Kyle Prater played last year. Though he isn't quite as tall as Prater was, he is a solid 6-foot-2 and some sites have him listed at 6-foot-3, which is pretty ideal size for a wide receiver. If he can add some bulk to that frame this offseason, he just might get a chance to play this year--there's playing time to be had at the wide receiver position, given that both Prater and Tony Jones are gone and Christian Jones' health is a question mark.
