Four-star Rapolas Ivanauskas commits to Northwestern

The in-state PF was NU's top target in the class of 2016.

Northwestern landed a commitment Saturday from four-star 2016 power forward Rapolas Ivanauskas, according to multiple reports.

A 6-foot-8 native of Barrington, Illinois, Ivanauskas is considered the fourth-best player in the state for the class of 2016 and the 117th-best player in the country, according to 247 Sports. He also holds offers from Iowa and Purdue, but has interest from Illinois, Kansas, Notre Dame, Indiana, Wisconsin and others.

Ivanauskas was on campus today, and he told Wildcat Digest last week that NU "wants me the most." His recruitment was led by NU assistant Armon Gates, who left a cryptic tweet about his commitment.

Ivanauskas is NU's first commit in the class of 2016, which is off to a great start now that the Wildcats have landed their No. 1 target and another power forward -- a clear position of need looking into the future.
