Northwestern head baseball coach Paul Stevens will retire after the 2015 season, Jim Phillips announced Thursday. Stevens, three time Big Ten Coach of the Year, has been with the program for 31 years.
Stevens, 61, will retire as Northwestern baseball's winningest coach. During his tenure a total of 65 of his players signed with Major League Baseball clubs, including the likes of Joe Girardi and Mark Loretta.
In his 26 seasons as skipper, Stevens enjoyed just four winning seasons and currently owns a coaching record of 663-818.
