The Big Ten named Northwestern linebacker Anthony Walker the conference's best defensive player in Week 3, following the No. 17 Wildcats' 19-10 win over Duke.

Walker racked up 19 tackles in Durham, with 14 of them coming in the first half, following up on his strong start to his sophomore season. Following Northwestern's season-opening upset of Stanford, Walker was also named the conference's defensive player of the week.

As it stands, Walker is ranked eighth in the nation in total tackles per game with 12.0.
