Northwestern is up to No. 17 in the Week 5 USA Today Coaches Poll, which was released Sunday. The Wildcats, who were ranked 19th a week ago, moved up two spots after their 24-19 victory over Ball State.
The Wildcats' jump was mostly a product of big losses by Oregon and Arizona, both of whom were ahead of NU last week.
Northwestern remains ahead of Wisconsin, meaning NU is the third-highest ranked Big Ten team.
