Rashawn Slater, a three-star class-of-2017 offensive guard from Sugar Land, Tex., has verbally committed to Northwestern. Slater announced his commitment Wednesday on Twitter:

Slater is a 6-foot-5, 280-pound high school junior from Clements High School. Per 247 Sports' Composite rankings, he's the 14th best offensive guard in his class. His composite score is .8628.

Slater chose Northwestern over offers from Illinois, Kansas, Wyoming and Rice. His highlights are above.

Slater plays defensive end as well as offensive guard in high school.

Slater is the fourth member of Northwestern's 2017 class, joining fellow offensive lineman Sam Gerak, linebacker Blake Gallagher, and defensive lineman Sam Miller.
