The difficult portion of the nonconference schedule for Northwestern (2-0) begins tonight as the Wildcats are in Indianapolis to play the Butler Bulldogs (1-0) at historic Hinkle Fieldhouse.
Chris Collins' team held off Eastern Washington on Monday night at Welsh-Ryan Arena by a score of 86-72 behind a career-high 26-point performance by Vic Law. The Eagles were able to hang around through the first half and into the second, but Northwestern's offensive attack picked it up a notch to seal away the win.
Butler opened its season on Saturday with a 89-52 win over Northern Colorado. On the heels of a second round NCAA Tournament exit last March, Chris Holtmann's staff was able to pick up some major-conference transfers in Kethan Savage (George Washington) and Avery Woodson (Memphis) to help rebuild a roster that graduated standouts Roosevelt Jones and Kellen Dunham last season. Savage (illness) won't play tonight, however.
Follow along with us below as Northwestern tries to keep the good times rolling. The game, starting at 6:00 PM CST, will be televised on FS1.
