This is a big one.
The Big Ten-ACC Challenge is back once again, and Northwestern has a tough matchup against the 5-1 Wake Forest Demon Deacons. The game, which will be televised on ESPNU, tips off at 8 p.m. CT from Welsh-Ryan Arena.
Northwestern is almost halfway through the non-conference portion of its schedule and after a couple of missed opportunities for resume-building wins, the 4-2 Wildcats need to take advantage of the ones they have left. Of their seven remaining non-con opponents, only two are likely to finish the season as top-100 RPI teams. Those two teams are tonight's opponent, Wake Forest, and Dayton, who Northwestern will play at the United Center on December 17th.
Danny Manning's team is led by 6'10" sophomore forward John Collins, who averages 18.8 points and 8.5 rebounds per game, and Wake Forest also has three other players averaging double figures.
